Profile

Your profile provides information about you that can be displayed to other researchers.

About me

This page summarizes important information you want to share with your contacts and other users. This is the first impression of a researcher’s profile and it is designed to resemble a research CV. Here, you can provide information about your research area, skills, education, experience, grants/funding, and personal interests, as well as your professional and private contact data. You can edit your profile in different ways. Click either the title of your profiles menu or “edit” in the menu list.

Export details: Export details from your ResearchGATE profile to a Word document.

Publications

Let other researchers learn more about your research by listing your publications. You can enter journal articles, conference presentations, books and/or chapters, theses, and patents. You can enter your publications manually, search our publication database, or import publications by uploading files created by your reference management software.

Import from ResearchGATE database: Search for your publications easily with the in-house search engine, which contains more than 35,000,000 articles from 7 major databases. Enter a search query (author, title, keywords) and ReFind will display matching publications and allow you to import the appropriate article.

Import from reference management software: Import publications from your reference library if you export them as *.xml file from either Bibtex, RIS, EndNote Version 7-11, or Reference Manager.

From EndNote or Reference Manager:
Open your library.
Select the 'File' menu and then 'Export'.
Select 'XML' as export data type.
Click save.

Library

Having a library helps you keep track of papers you find useful, interesting, want to read, and it allows you to share them with others. Build your library by searching for publications with the ResearchGATE search engine, import manually, or import from reference management software. You can also export your library as a *.xml file.

Import from reference management software: go to "Import from files of reference management software"

Clear library: This function enables you to clear your entire library.

Network graph

Network graph is an innovative tool designed by ResearchGATE that allows you to see how your contacts and other researchers are connected within ResearchGATE. You can view network graphs from within your own profile or in another users profile. By selecting either the 'publications' or 'groups' boxes individually, the network graph will visualize these independent connections. The drop down menu offers several options to arrange the connections – e.g, you can sort:

- contacts by city, country, research focus or disciplines

- publications by publishing date or journal title

- groups by number of members or category.

Memo and Tag

Memo
Memos allows you to write a brief note about each of your contacts. This memo is only visible to you, and you can, for example, use it to note where you met a particular contact or to easily recall which lab a contact is working in.

Tag
Tags allows you to sort your contacts in different lists. Just add tags separated by commas to add a contact to one or more specific lists (e.g., personal, lab group, specific disciplines).
