How do I get started?
1. Register
- Visit ResearchGate and click Join for free to start signing up. Learn more
Note: Please be aware that membership is limited to active researchers.
2. Complete your profile
- Add a profile photo: Profiles with photos get 150% more views.
- Add your skills and expertise: This helps others understand your work and helps us show you relevant content.
- Add your current institution and department: This helps you connect with peers and gives you entitled access to relevant research and opportunities based on your institution.

3. Grow your network
- Follow researchers: Once your profile is set up, visit your Related researchers page to follow relevant researchers.
4. Discover research
- Home feed: Click Home at the top left of any page to see new research and updates.
5. Explore Q&A
- Ask and answer questions: Participate in Q&A to ask research-related questions, get answers from specialists, and share your expertise. If you don’t have a question to ask, try answering some – it’s a great way to share your knowledge from the start.
