Deleting your ResearchGate account is permanent and cannot be undone. Before deleting your account, please keep in mind that you can update your profile and account settings without having to delete your account:
- You can change your account name, email address, and affiliation
- You can manage your profile visibility from your Privacy settings
- You can unsubscribe or customize your email preferences from your Email settings
- You can manage the research on your profile by editing your publication list or removing full-texts
- You can block researchers from contacting you on ResearchGate
- If you have duplicate accounts, you may be able to merge them
Note: If you've requested a full-text, the authors won’t be able to fulfill your request if your account has been deleted. Please note that these requests are fulfilled by the authors, and can therefore take some time.

I deleted my account — why do I still see it in search results?
Once an account is deleted, the profile's old URL (e.g., https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Firstname-Lastname-16) redirects to our researcher index. However, it may take some time for search engines to update their search results. We cannot control how quickly search engines update their search results, and it may often take search engines a few weeks to manage and index changes to web pages.
How can I delete an account I can no longer access?
