When you engage with research and connect with others online, it's important to feel confident that you're interacting with real people and credible information. To help you make more informed decisions about the research, people, and opportunities you encounter, ResearchGate has introduced verification.

A Verified Badge on a researcher's profile indicates that they have confirmed their affiliation with the institution listed on their profile.

ResearchGate members can verify their affiliation with a research institution using their institutional email.

1. **Check institution recognition:** If ResearchGate recognizes your institution and the domain name (the part after '@') of your email matches your institution's domain, you can proceed with verification.
2. **Confirm your email:** We will send you a link to your institutional email address. Click this link to confirm that it is your email address. If this email is not already linked to your account, it will be added.
3. **Receive your Verified Badge:** After confirming your institutional email, you will receive a Verified Badge on your profile.

**Maintaining your verified status**

To keep your verified status, please ensure your institutional email remains linked to your account. We will also ask you to re-verify your affiliation every 6 months.

A Verified Badge on a ResearchGate profile signifies that the individual has verified their primary affiliation on their profile within the last 6 months.

Verification is available to ResearchGate members who:

* Are affiliated with a recognized research or academic institution in our system.
