When you follow a research item like a publication or Q&A post, you may get updates about new activity.
How do I follow a publication?
On a publication page, click the More button on the right-hand side and select Follow to get updates. You can also follow publications in your feed, in search results, or on others' profiles by clicking the Follow button beneath the author list or abstract preview.
You’ll get updates about new activity like if an author adds a full-text.
How do I follow a Q&A post?
To follow a question or discussion, click the Follow button under the post. Following a Q&A post means that you'll be notified of any new answers or replies.
Where can I see the research items I'm following?
Your profile’s Following tab is where you can keep track of and manage all the research items, journals, and people you’re following.
Can others see what research items I'm following?
When you follow a publication or Q&A post, your follow is publicly visible. It may be shown in others' home feeds or on the research item itself.
When others view your profile’s Following tab, they can see lists of people and journals you follow, and people who follow you. Research items and Q&A posts aren’t visible here.
How do I unfollow a research item?
You’ll see a Following button on publication pages and Q&A posts that you follow. Clicking that button will unfollow the research item.
To easily manage the research items you follow, visit your profile’s Following tab.
Why am I automatically following research items?
Some parts of the following process are automated to improve your ResearchGate experience. For example, if you request a full-text of a research item, you will automatically follow it to keep you up to date with any new activity.
You automatically follow all questions and discussions you post, comment on, recommend, or share.
