Commenting on research items is no longer possible
We introduced comments on research items to help researchers discuss research directly with the authors, give feedback, and share their expertise.
Over time, we found that comments weren't providing sufficient benefits to the researchers who engage with the feature or authors whose work is commented on. Because of this, we decided to remove the option.
Ultimately, we want to create a better science by empowering researchers to do their best work. That's why it’s important that every feature we build and maintain can enable researchers to be more effective in their jobs. By discontinuing commenting and removing existing comments from research items, we can create better features that help our members more.
